He was predeceased by: his former wife Lynn; his children, Adam and Amanda; his brother-in-law Glen Hassall; his parents, Anne and Mickey; and his parents-in-law, Edith Wilson and Tom Shipley.
He is survived by: his wife Patti; his sister Linda (Miles); his siblings-in-law, Jim (Sherry), Debbie (Jim) and Bev (Rob); his mother-in-law Jean Shipley; his nieces and nephews, Emma (Brandon), Christopher (Brittney), Adele, Jackson and Pam (Andy); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ellie, Evan, Simon, Luke and Nate; and his godchildren, Stephanie and Shaeleigh.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home (64 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville, ON L6K1E1). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church's Banquet Centre (300 River Oaks Blvd E, Oakville, ON L6H5T1).
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour John are welcome to make donations to a charity of their choice, or to one of the following: Parkinson's Canada Canadian Cancer Society.
