He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary Ellen; his siblings, Floyd (Emily), Hazel, Iona and Ruby; and his brothers-in-law, Pat, Ben, Keith and Jim.
He is survived by: his wife Carol of Hanover; his children, David Frederick (Kelly) of Burlington, Shawn Frederick (Joanne) of Cambridge and Karen Straus (Jayson) of Elmira; his stepchildren, Dianna Hunter (Jim) of Wasaga Beach, Marcy White (Kevin) of Ottawa and Daryl Denstedt (Meg) of Elmira; his siblings, Marilyn Walsh of Lindsay and Ed Frederick (Janet) of Calgary; and his siblings-in-law, Frank, Janet, Margaret, Sharon and Alice. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
