He was predeceased by: his stepson Donald; and his siblings, Grace, Lloyd and Jean. He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Ann Laurie Pearston and John Russell Pearston; his adoptive daughters, Deborah Lloyd and Cynthia Rogers; and his stepsons, Stephen and Craig. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

If desired, donations in John's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society for Cancer Research and would be appreciated by the family.
