We are sad to announce that on February 2, 2025, at the age of 86, George Edward Wayne Thrasher (Oakville, Ontario), born in Hornepayne, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rupert James Thrasher and Rosaline Patricia (Philbrook); and his brother Victor Thrasher (Laurie). He is survived by: his wife Gloria Ella (Lawson); his children, Nancy (Keith Ranney), Dean (Sally Ali), Blair and Mark (Terrie Galbraith); his grandchildren, Shannon (Dave Cope), Kyle (Lisa Fish), Jessica Ranney (T. J. Sawchuk), Nicole Ranney (Ryan Grigsby), Morgan Ranney (Dan Marusic), Carly and Lee; his great grandchildren, Charlie Grigsby and Aubree Sawchuk; his niece Carrie (Jason Sanderson); his great-niece Sarah; and his cousin Rob Thrasher (Chris). He is also survived by friends and co-workers.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON L5L5Z6). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location.
