He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Dawe and Joyce Dawe; his brothers, Bill and Harry Dawe; and his in-laws, Leo, Mary Stapleton, Geraldine Dickinson (Stapleton), Harold Dickinson, Ron, Babs Stapleton, Brian Stapleton and Basil Stapleton.

He is survived by: his wife Joan; his grandsons, Julian Michael and Leo Sebastian Dawe; and his stepgrandson Garrett Douglas Bradnam. He is also survived by friends, former colleagues, nieces, nephews.
