We are sad to announce that on July 3, 2023, at the age of 83, Dorotea Papia (Oakville, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Dora passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 83 surrounded by family.

Loving wife of the late Giovanni. Dear Mother of Alfonsa (Mario), Joseph (Deborah), Stefano, Ray, Angelo, and Filippa. Beloved Nonna of William (Alyssa) and Sophie. Cherished sister of Giovanni, Rosa, Maria, Giuseppina, Carmela, Alfonsa, and Raimondo. Dora held a special relationship with her dearest cat, Roberto, who still occupies her recliner.

Dora will be fondly remembered for her elegance, gentility, independence, and wittiness. Dora was devoted to her family, always ensuring everyone was cared for and well-fed. Dora was deeply religious; everyday she would sit at the breakfast table and read the Bible, and participate in a weekly online church service with her dearest friend Gina. Dora was a bright light, always positive and supportive of friends and family, and kept everyone in her prayers.

We will miss her more than words can describe, but we know she is at peace and watching over us from Heaven. Ti vogliamo bene.
