He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his children, Paul Black, Andrea De Michele (Angelo) and Stephanie Cherry (Kristopher); his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Owen Black, Matthew, Emma De Michele, William and Thomas Cherry; his siblings, Margaret MacNeil, Christine Wendling, John Black, Kay Black and Marilyn; and his brother-in-law Joe McMullan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in David's name to Autism Ontario or The Kidney Foundation.
