He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Yim Fung; his children, Genny, Connie (Dan), Esther (Frank) and Danny (Joy); his grandchildren, Brandon, Hayden, Kylie, Luca, Adria, Jairen, Jayce and Jaya; his parents, Sun Yen and Lai King Cheng; his sibling Chiu Charn Cheng (Zarine Cheng); and his niece Samantha Cheng. He was also cherished by nephews, extended family and friends.
