She was predeceased by: her husbands, William Clair Longthorne and James F. Sutherland; her son Kenneth Clair Longthorne; and her grandson Jason Richard Hearns. She is survived by: her children, Linda Hearns, Nancy Hall (Bob), Wayne Longthorne (Sylvia), Mary Kocher (Garry), Don Longthorne and Evelyn Nobbs (Steve); and her daughter-in-law Deb Longthorne. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.

Donations in memory of Viola, may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Oxford or the Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated.
