He was predeceased by: his former wife Jane; his parents, Herbert Freel and Dorothy Freel; and his sister Margaret. He is survived by: his children, Michael (Theresa), Carolyn Rutherford (Tim) and Douglas (Brigette); his stepson Mark Jazvac (Catherine); his grandchildren, Keaton, David, Kathryn, Jennifer, Robert, Brian, Nicole, Emma and Peter; his sister Betty-Jean Davis of Stratford; and also Ellie. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Lloyd passed away peacefully after a lingering struggle with the effects of Alzheimer's and several strokes in Oakville on November 6, 2018.
