He was predeceased by: his sister-in-law Jean Dolson; and his niece Linda Tamburro. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Mandel; his daughter Carrie Mandel; his daughter-in-law Wendy Moore Mandel; his brother Dr. Sidney Mandel; his sister-in-law Mary Mandel; his grandchildren, Carter Mandel, Raquel Mandel, Jolie Goldstein, Fynne Goldstein and Zachery Johns; his nieces and nephews, Dr. Scott Mandel, Angela Mandel, Robyn Stuckless (Dolson), Shaun Stanford (Dolson), Fraser Dolson and John Dolson; and his son Sloan Mandel.

In his final days, battling Covid-19, he asked his children to "take the file from here.".

He was a fighter and long-time Parkinson's Disease survivor.
