He was predeceased by: his son Joseph (Lorna); and his brothers, Bernard Canning and Edward (Helen). He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his children, Paul, Jeanette, Michael (Kim), Kenneth (Sue), Mary Louise and Maryanne; and his siblings, Marie Armstrong (Frank) and Basil (Edna). He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren and 33 great children.
