He was predeceased by: his siblings, Harold Gleason and Dawn Carole Sawchuck. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Gleason; his former wife Jean Dufoe; his children, Kelly Gleason and Chad Gleason; and his sister Marlene Sawchuck.
Other works included the Make A Wish Foundation and as a driver supporting the Motherhouse in North Bay (Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie). James enjoyed the Alzheimer's Breakfast Club with Margaret for its support and many friendships.
