He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Ward and Grace Ward (O'Donnell); his siblings, Leona Power, Roberta Finnie, Mera Rutledge, Alice Telesco, John Ward and Norton Ward; and his sister-in-law Marjorie Johnston (Thomas).

He is survived by: his spouse Edith Ward (Mills); his child Darlene Gillet; his grandchildren, Seth Gillet (Leticia) and Zachary Gillet; his great grandchildren, Judah and Asa Gillet; his brothers, Frank Ward (Robin) and Jeff Ward (Sharon); his niece Shelley Burns (Derrick); his great-niece Brianna (Liam); and his great-nephew Devin (Karoline). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
