She was predeceased by: her husband Benjamin William Merle Read; her sons, Thomas and William; and her parents, Oswald Maynard and Violet Culley.
She is survived by: her sister Fay Maynard; and her sister-in-law Claire Maynard.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society in memory of Ruth will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
