He was predeceased by: his parents, Kam Kwan Chan and Suk Yin Law; and his father-in-law Ting. He is survived by: his wife Angela; his children, Dr. Teresa Chan (Bruce Blain), Eric Chan (Judy Liu) and Dr. Winnie Chan (Robert Clayden); his siblings, Antonio Chen (Lorraine), Josephine Tsui (Kam), Sandra Lee (Stephen), Iris Ing (Tom) and Alain Chan (Lisa); his mother-in-law Yiu Kam Kwan; and his brother-in-law Patrick Poon (Vivian).
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Patterson Funeral Home (6062 Main St, Niagara Falls, ON L2G5Z9). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In memory of Kai, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Niagara, (https://hospiceniagara.akaraisin.com) which provided great comfort and support to the family and particularly Angela during the last few weeks, or the Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine Award which has been created by Dr. Chan's family to commemorate his legacy.
