She was predeceased by: her son Max Butera. She is survived by: her children, Steven Butera (Kristin), Sonia Butera (Frank) and Nadia Panetta; her grandchildren, Luca, Kristijan, Maxx and Giuliana; and her siblings, Pino Caruso and Rachela Ferraiuolo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In memory of Maria donations to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) would be appreciated by her family.
