He was predeceased by: his father Robert Sears; and his brother Peter Sears. He is survived by: his spouse Kandice Sears; his mother Theresa Sears; his sister Carol Sears (Bryan Deboer); his nephew Robert; and his close friend Dee Springhouse. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
