He was predeceased by: his father John Simpson; and his brothers, Jack, Ted, Tom and David.
He is survived by: his children, Lindsay Simpson (Chris Ivanovs) and Andrea Simpson (Kyle Alves); his grandchildren, Ava, Nico and Luna; and his sisters, Lorna Beck and Judy Joynt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Mental Health Association.
