He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Giuseppe DeMizio; his siblings-in-law, Tony Martins, Edward DeMizio (Marianne), Rosalie Filice (Peter) and Gino DeMizio (Stacy); and his parents, Stephen Smith and Isabel Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Lucy; his sons, Joseph (Sandra) and Stephen; his grandchildren, Ciara and Alexa; his mother-in-law Pasqualina DeMizio; and his siblings-in-law, Carmen DeMizio (Loretta) and Mary. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
