He was predeceased by: his wife Pamela; his brothers, George (Nellie) and Gerald (Sheila); his extended family Henry Braun; and his father London.

He is survived by: his children, Lorraine Palmer-Smith and Craig Smith; his son-in-law Rod Palmer; his granddaughters, Maddy (Jeremy) and Abbey Palmer (Matt); his sister Gillian Hook (Arthur) of England; his extended family Joyce Braun; and his friend Trussell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In memory of Doug, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or Shriners Hospitals for Children and would be greatly appreciated by his family.
