She was predeceased by: her brother-in-law Ted Toth; her grandmother Janet Nokes; her father Ernest James Bates; her brother Bryan Bates; her aunt Agnes Symington Barrett; and her cousin Kenneth Barrett.

She is survived by: her close friend Erhard Kern; her children, Bradley Warren (Sally), Allison (Christian) and McInnis; her grandchildren, Julia, Nathan Warren and Everhett McInnis; her niece Alexandra Janet Bates-Toth; her sister Beverly Jean Toth; and her granddaughter Barbara.
