It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alexander Mitchell Ironside of Niagara Falls, Ontario, who passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wives, Alice and Doris; his parents, Robert Ironside and Mina Ironside; and his sister Mina Smith (George).
He is survived by: his daughters, Mina McGean (Wayne), Kathy Ironside (Enzo) and Bonnie Ironside (Darin); his grandchildren, Shaun (Sarah), Adaire (Lenn), Katie (Jesse), Rhiannon, Mellissa, Amanda, Daisy and Dex; his great grandchildren, Aaralynn, Tony, Niko, Ethan, Merrick, Alex, Aidan and Paul; and his siblings, Frances Forrest (late Ken) and Robert Ironside (Tess). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews & cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel (5176 Victoria Ave, Niagara Falls, ON L2E4E3). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM. A burial will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at the Fairview Cemetery (4501 Stanley Ave, Niagara Falls, ON L2E2E8).
