He was predeceased by: his siblings, Charlie, George, Nellie, Mary and Nick.

He is survived by: his wife Cathy; his daughters, Judy Johnston (Paul) and Shelley Mahovlich; his grandchildren, Tyler Johnston (Katie), Cody Johnston (Denise), Brittany, Devon and Lucas Black; his great grandchildren, Addison, Seth, Zeppelin and Lorelai; his brother John Mahovlich (Fern); and his sisters-in-law, Stella Mahovlich and Lois Mahovlich. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
