He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth; his nephew Jonathan Carmichael; and his great-niece Mekena Carmichael. He is survived by: his mother Lois Stocking of Newbury; his siblings, Ruth Carmichael (Dougal) of West Lorne, Gerald Stocking (Alice) of Bothwell, Mark Stocking (Sharon) of Wardsville, Gary Stocking (Kim) of Tobermory, Susan Smith (Brad) of Ridgetown and Catherine Brown (Ken) of Lucknow; his aunt Margaret; and his brother-in-law Dougal. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of a donation payble by cheque to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 221 West Lorne where Jim was a long-time member.
