We are sad to announce that on October 9, 2018, at the age of 99, Helen Shantz (New Hamburg, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Oliver Lichty; her daughter Joanne Wideman; her brother Arthur Lichty; her former wives, Eunice and Olive; her sisters, Glennis Verkerke (Bill) and Bernice Randall (John); and her brother-in-law Abner Shantz.
She is survived by: her parent Joanna Lichty (Eby); her husband Nyal Shantz; her children, Richard, Connie Shantz of Baden, Lorrie, Roger Baechler of New Hamburg, Pauline, Glenn Martin of Ayr, Michael, Linda Shantz of Baden and Cliff Wideman of St. Jacobs; her grandchildren, Luke, Joanna Shantz, Lindsay, Scott Leis, Kevin Shantz, Kristy Ziegel, Amy, Mike Scott, Trevor, Jody Wideman, Melanie, Brandon Chilvers, Kelly, Adam Stoak, Carly Martin, Fraser, Kelitta Martin, Simon, Yvonne Martin, Aaron, Andrew and Katelyn Shantz; her great grandchildren, Keira Shantz, Marrissa Shantz, Dylan, Lauren, Hudson Leis, Kai Scott, Kallie Wideman, Devin, Kaden, Tanner Chilvers, Simon, Kole Stoak, Izaac Martin and Bryson Martin; her sister Norma Shantz; and her sister-in-law Delphine Lichty. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
