He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Brian Verellen. He is survived by: his wife Reta; his children, Twyla (Doug Petrie), Jennifer (Jeff Leslie), Jodi (Kevin McGuffin) and Kyle (Erin Young); his grandchildren, Liz, Nick Jones, Richard, Jess Petrie, Katelyn Petrie, Brian, Eric Leslie, Lily, Chad Leslie, Madi, Jordan McGuffin, Lauren and Evan Young; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Kingston and Freya Petrie.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Marys United Church (85 Church St S, St. Marys, ON N4X0A6). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
