He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ernie, Wayne, Billy, Frances and Margaret.

He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his children, George Johnstone (Kathy) and Patricia Johnstone (John Spencer); his grandchildren, Jeremie Johnstone (Maegan van Zoelen), Amanda Johnstone, Breanna Spencer, Nicole Spencer and Chase Phillips; and his siblings, Jannette, Donald and Beth. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
