He is survived by: his mother Diane Kirkness; his sister Sharilynn Dale Kirkness (Kenneth Moss); his former wife Suzanne Downie; his children, Jeffrey Gordon Downie, Katharine Elizabeth Kirkness and Michael William Harry Kirkness; his former wife Krista Sheppard; his children, Dylan Downie, Taylor Downie and Jakob Downie; his daughter-in-law Andrea Burnham; his children, Madeleine Kirkness, Samuel Kirkness, Jude Kirkness, Emma Kirkness, Madison and Logan; his spouse Veronique Niesing; his sons, Jacob and Leo; his sister Sandra Jean Ferguson-Escott (Wally Escott); his nieces and nephews, Alexander Ferguson Joshua (Michelle Durdle), Ashey Escott McDonald (Teddy McDonald), Evelyn, Olivia, Jaxon Leppington, William Ferguson, Monty McDonald and Janet Lynn Hainsworth (Tony Volpe); his great-nephew Robert Hainsworth (Tabitha Lewis); his great-niece Mary Hainsworth (Richard Bremner); his brother James Alexander Downie; his children, Nicole (Luke Antrim) and James Jr. (Courtney Suttie); his nieces, Riley, Emersyn, Finnley Antrim and Ava Downie; his nephew Beckett Antrim; and also, Morgan, Ainslie and Charlotte Ferguson.
