He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara (Merritt); his brother-in-law Lorne Merritt (Anne Marie); and his parents, Harold Grooms and Mary Grooms. He is survived by: his children, Murray (late Linda) of Barrie, Keith (Darlene) of Napanee, Nadine Way (Stephen) of Selby, Charlene Smith (Jack) of Cobourg and Eugene Grooms of Napanee; his sibling Marion; and his siblings-in-law, Glenn (late Sharon) and Paul (Joanne). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
