He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Gilda Soares; his children, Fatima Mantell (Tony) of Maryhill, Joe Soares (Niki) of Napanee and David Soares (Michele) of Guelph; his grandchildren, Anne (Jeff), Mike (Krista), Jasmine (Mason), Derek (Amy), Danielle and Jordan; and his great grandchildren, Ceili, Wesley, Iris, Jack and Logan.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Waterloo Wellington.
