It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerland Gaensicke (Napanee, Ontario), who passed away on December 12, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fritz Gaensicke and Ruth Gaensicke; and his brother Roy. He is survived by: his spouse Pat Gaensicke; his daughters, Christine Martin (Steve Keeley), Jennifer Couvreur (Peter) and Michelle Armstrong (late Scott); his grandchildren, Mathew (Brianna), Braedon (Miranda), Ashlee Couvreur, Jeremy, Cole Martin, Joshua and Ayden Armstrong; and his great grandchildren, Maisie and Ophelia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations made to the Lennox and Addington County Hospital Foundation (for the Palliative care Unit) would be appreciated by the family.

My grandmother, Hildegard Steinke, born Gänsicke,  was the aunt of Gerland and the youngest sister of his father Fritz.
