With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Laird McCarthy (Mount Forest, Ontario), born in Ottawa, Ontario, who passed away on February 24, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Don McCarthy and Mona McCarthy (Al Reynolds); his brothers, Sean McCarthy (Pam) and Les McCarthy (Johanne); his father-in-law Ron Van Alstine; and his niece Sarah McCarthy.

He is survived by: his spouse Kim Marie McCarthy; his children, Joshua McCarthy (Deanna Cook) and Rachel McCarthy (Brandon Wagg); his siblings, Mike McCarthy, Dan McCarthy (Deb), Jim McCarthy (Jean), Bruce McCarthy, Maureen O'Connell (Johnnie), Tim McCarthy (Christine), Bonnie Amyotte (Richard), Frances Krueger (Dwayne), Marion Williams (Gary) and Terry McCarthy (Lyn); his mother-in-law Gertie; his siblings-in-law, Carol Ann Rice (Murray), Erica Shortreed (John) and Bruce Van Alstine; and his nephew Joe Amyotte. He is also survived by nephews, his friends.
