He was predeceased by: his mother Linda van of Pol; his stepbrother Phillip; and his grandparents, Henderik, Jantje van of Pol, Tom and Jane Lise.

He is survived by: his children, Cade, Martyn and Alyssa; his father Frank (Lucy); his siblings, Adam (Amanda), Jane (late Steven), Robert (Sara), Richard (Shauna) and Leah (Willem); and his stepbrothers, David (Sandra), Matthew (Melissa) and Steven (Kahley). He is also survived by many friends and co-workers.

“I am so sorry that you are going through this tragic event. I worked with Henry and was in the adoption community that he also was in. He was a great person, a loving father and someone who was kind to his patients. He will be remembered as a great Nurse and a good man. Hopefully the family and his children can find comfort in knowing that Henry's life mattered and he is in the hands of our most Wonderful Savior who gives us the greatest comfort.
