Gus Backx Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gus Backx of Mount Brydges, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 22, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandson Cole Budd; his parents, Henry Backx and Mary Backx; his brother John Backx; and also, Hank Dorssers, Louise, Harry Kennes, Tony and Anne Versteegden.

He is survived by: his wife Thea Backx; his children, Rob Backx of London and Karen Coward (Brad) of Mount Brydges; his grandchildren, Chris Budd, Julia and Rachel Coward; and his siblings-in-law, Catherine VanderBurgt (Frank), Jane Vanderheyden (Lou), Adrian Versteegden (Kathy) and Marge Versteegden (late Albert). He is also survived by his many Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home Ltd. (22424 Adelaide Rd, Mount Brydges, ON N0L 1W0). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Charles Catholic Church (244 Stella Ave, Glencoe, ON N0L1M0).

In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Salthaven Wildlife (P.O Box 601, Mount Brydges, Ont., N0L 1W0) would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
