He was predeceased by: his father Rocky. He is survived by: his mother Sunny Savage; his aunt Wendy van Buskirk; his siblings, Judy Hosier (Jerry) and Paul Savage (Tamara); his cousins, Kathy, Sandy, Robin, Bruce and Jim; his daughter Zoe; and his nieces and nephews, Laura, Greg, Amy, Eric and Kali. He is also survived by friends and musical friends.

In lieu of flowers, John has asked that donations of time or funds be sent to Matthews House Hospice in Alliston, Ontario.
