He was predeceased by: his wife Madeline; his parents, Elizabeth Beattie and Henry Irwin Beattie; and his siblings, Bill, Henrietta Hooke and Anne Beattie.

He is survived by: his children, Jane and Robert; his stepchildren, Mary Beth Moses (Stuart Large) and Lee Anne Moses (Micheal Leeson); his grandchildren, Johnny, Tiffany (Evan) and Darcy; his great grandchildren, Calla Josephine and Hudson John; his brother George; and his sister-in-law Margaret. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
