She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Laing; her daughter Marilyn Zimmer; her parents, John Jefferson and Jeanette Jefferson (Nettie); and her siblings, John (Norma), Norman, Mary Chessell (Bill), Margaret Cleland (Bruce), Olive Riehl (Don), Eva Laing (Gordon) and Laura LaForge (Charles).
She is survived by: her children, Margaret (Jeff), Andrew (Helen), Murray (Viola) and Tom (Christine); her grandchildren, Scott (Shannon), Erin (Brad), Rob, Lois (Ryan), Latisha, Byron, Jacob (Christena) and Erika; her great grandchildren, Joshua, Jamie, Jackson and Bella; her stepgrandchildren, Alex, Katelyn, Emma and Darnell; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Justin, Summer, Trevor, Tyler and Jaylyn; her sister Ina (Bill Laidlaw); and her sister-in-law Barbara Jefferson.
