He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce McNairn; his parents, Norman McNairn and Agnes McNairn; and his siblings, Harold McNairn (Madeline), Jack McNairn (Ruth), Audrey Goforth (Walter), Shirley Bevan (John), Marjorie Francis (Don) and Onilee Knott.
He is survived by: his children, Kim McNairn (Lyn) of Melbourne, Garth McNairn (Jan) of Sydney and Tracy McNairn (Trevor Harris) of Ottawa; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Knott of London, John Mitchell (Elaine) of Kitchener and Russ Murdoch (Elinor) of Stratford. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
