He was predeceased by: his parents, Renold Michiels and Paulina Michiels; his siblings, Joe Michiels, Christiana and Reinilda; and his brother-in-law John Roes.

He is survived by: his siblings, Margaret Roes, John Michiels (Mary), Rose Visser (Joe), Edward Michiels, Emiel Michiels (Carolyn), Louis Michiels (Shirley), Bert Michiels and Ron Michiels; and his sibling-in-law Ine Michiels. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
