He was predeceased by: his daughter-in-law Marg; and his parents-in-law, Frank, Rieka Bertens, Anne, Adrian, Piet, Jo Bertens, Jos, Tiny Bertens, Lies, Willem VanLaak, Miet, Janus VanEsch, Jan Bertens, Wim Bertens, Louis, Mary and Nel.
He is survived by: his wife Annie; his children, Ade Bertens, Hank (Nancy Bertens), Marlene (Jim Maguire), Nancy (Vince Hulshof), Larry (Janice Bertens) and Trish (Dale McComb); his grandchildren, Marissa (Tom), Braden (Emily), Kim (Jamie), Dan (Brittany), Erin, Craig (Krista), Tricia (Ari), Brent, Devin, Breanne, Elise, Julia (Joe), Mark, Rachel, Greg, Jared, Groot-Opa, Nora, Iris, Arlo, Aria and Theo; and his siblings-in-law, Lucy, John VanHaaren (Canada), Rien, Ria, Zus, Leo VanKasteren, Piet and Annie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
