He was predeceased by: his parents, Huig Pelt and Sara Van Pelt; his siblings, Ben, Max (Catherine) and Dee Overduin (Henry); his siblings-in-law, George Kleinjan, Paul Goud, Bill Pennings, Hank Van Dixhoorn and Darlene Van Pelt; and his grandson Kenton Van Pelt.
He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, Hugh Van Pelt (Lucy), Annelie McCreight, Bernie Van Pelt (Lana), Michael Van Pelt (Deani), John Van Pelt (Barb), Aron Van Pelt (Tara), Sara Lynn Weiler (Jay) and Margaret-Ann Van Pelt (Dan Diehl); his siblings, Audrey Kleinjan, Eva Goud, Sya Timmermans (Len), Sara Pennings, Henk Van Pelt, Hugo Van Pelt (Virginia), Thea Van Dixhoorn, Margaret Wood (Chris), Lina De Kwaatsteniet (Jack) and Floyd Van Pelt (Jacqueline); and his siblings-in-law, Darlene Meinen, Francis Van Eyk, Martinus Otten and Grace Benjamins.
