He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. A. X Pereira and Jane Pereira; his spouse Belina Pereira; and his brother Allen Pereira. He is survived by: his children, Marilyn D'Silva (late Maurice), Elaine Fernandes (Dana), Jeffery (Sheila), Ashley (Janina) and Kathy Ribeiro (Allan); his grandchildren, Justin (Amanda), Jacqueline (Adam), Daniel (Christine), David, Michelle, Matthew, Melissa, Michael (Emily), Andrew, Jason (Natalie) and Derek; his great grandchildren, Lucas, Nicholas, Matteo, Lorenzo, Hudson and James; his nieces and nephews, Clive (Luzia), Neil, Ramila (late Damodar), Roy and Sandra (Oscar); his caregivers, Cristina Cervantes and Janice Sales; and his friend Turner.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Society of Canada and the Canadian Cancer Society.
