He is survived by: his wife Allyson McMackon; his siblings, John, Lesley, Mark (Lyndal) and Andrew; his nephews, Luke (Chantelle) and Lee; his siblings-in-law, Jennifer (Lee) and Ian; his uncle Lawrence (Maria); his cousins, Isabella, Bruce, Joanie, Arland (Cassandra), Trevor, Sean and Norman; his sibling B. C.; and also, Elizabeth, Nicola and Martin (Amy).

He received a Chalmers Foundation Professional Development Grant in 2017.
