He was loved and cherished by many people including: his close friend Nancy Weir; his children, Suzanne Szewczyk of Mississauga and John Szewczyk of Mississauga; his grandchildren, Jordan Wylie and John Szewczyk Jr.; his brother Peter Szewczyk (Marie) of Toronto; his niece Sarah Szewczyk; and his nephew Adam Szewczyk (Adrianna).
