He was predeceased by: his former wife Nina Amann; his parents, Hugo Amann and Sophie Amann; and his sister Elizabeth. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Amann; his children, Greg (Connie), Justin (Jane) and Giselle (Clark); his grandchildren, Max, Leo, Heather, Rachel and RJ; his stepchildren, Tony, Susan and Jason; his sister Gretel; his aunt Resi; and his uncle Waclaw.

Early during Covid, Hans and Sheila moved into Port Credit Residences Retirement Home, where they received the community and assistance they needed.
