He was predeceased by: his wife Laura Sousa (Alves); and his parents, Joaquina Sousa (Lopes) and Manuel Sousa. He is survived by: his daughter Paula Cavacas (Jorge); his grandchildren, Jason and Brittany; and his brothers, Jose Sousa and Manuel Sousa.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hinnegan Peseski Funeral Home (156 William St S, Chatham, ON N7M4S8). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (180 Wellington St W, Chatham, ON N7M5K4). An entombment will be held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM.
