He was predeceased by: his parent Isabella Breathat (Ferguson); his grandchild Charlie; and his siblings, Gerald Breathat (Pauline) and Alden Breathat. He is survived by: his parent Thomas Breathat; his children, Barbara Breathat, Merilyn Guiney (Kevin), Karen Carrick (Greg) and Chuck Breathat (Buffy); his grandchildren, Vicki (Ryan), Gord (Anita), Tara, Michelle (Jamie), Krista (Eric), Jody (Jason), Shirley Anne, Jason (Melissa), Michael and Thomas; and his siblings, Marlene Laidley (late Ab) and Sheila Fogal (Graham).

Donations may be made in Doug's honour to the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary.
