He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Diehl and Mary Diehl (Keillor); and his siblings, Melinda Raycraft, Dorothy Diehl, Nancy Diehl, Charles, Jack, Robert, Martin and Kenneth Diehl.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Diehl (Orr); his daughters, Charmaine (Larry Kestle) and Crystal (Kyle Wagner); his grandchildren, Emma Kestle, Kolton and Carter Wagner; and his siblings, Frances (William Craig), Helen Molyneux, Gloria Diehl, Allan, Douglas and Harvey Diehl.
