He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Russell" Helen and Nettie Helen. He is survived by: his close friend Audrey; his children, Jean Giroux (Barry), Keith McLean (Debbie), Shelley Storace (Paul) and David McLean (Adriane); his grandchildren, Danielle, Steven, Stefanie (Lacey), Daniel (Brianna), Cassandra (Max), Dylan, Kevin and Ben; and his great grandchild Ira.

Donations in Allan's name may be made to the Northumberland Hills Humane Society.
